Did you even look at Player's Handbook 1 & 2.
Plus 4.0 has more story/roleplaying and less numbers and stats.
Hell, I wrote my spells down on notecards... and that's how I do that. x3

Deva- Immortal spirits who embody virtue, born and reborn to mortal life in the world.(Named after a branch of Hinduism I believe.)

Gnome- Slight, sly tricksters of the Feywild who excel at avoiding notice.

Goliath- Tribal nomads of the mountatins, strong as the rock and proud as the peak.

Half-Orc- Fierce warriors who combine human resolve with orc savagery. (They vary a lot, so don't go by the picture.)

Shifter- Ferocious heirs of the wild, the perfect fusion of civilized race and wild beast. (DRUIDS LUL)

Here are the new classes for 4.0!
Avenger- Everything my god needs to say to you can be said with my weapon.
Striker. (I guess they are kind of like monks that are assassins or something.)
Barbarian- My strength is the fury of the wild.
Striker. (Savage warrior, what else can I say?)
Bard- THe clash of blades, a note. A battle fought, a verse. The hero's war, a song. (gay)
Leader. (Arcane magic with words and music. Blah blah.. You know.)
Druid- (!) I am the seeker. I am the stalker. I am the storm.
Controller. (It's a fucking druid!)
Invoker- The only thing stronger than my faith is the fire I use to burn away those who stand against the will of the gods.
Controller. (All I can think of is DIVINE PROTECTION!They are pretty cool though.)
Shaman- The spirits surround us, guide us, and hold all the knowledge of the world.
Leader. (It's a shaman. They use the spirit world and kill shit. They get a spirit companion.)
Sorcerer- I am in the arcane, and the arcane is in me.
Striker. (ARCANE MISSILES GOOOOO.)
Warden- Get past me? You might as well try to push the mountains aside.
Defender. (A guardian, basically. Deflect spells, etc.)

Plus we're all beginners >.>; So we're just going to go with 3.5 for now. Maybe when I actually get into it with people who know what they're doing, I'll create a character in the 4.0 ruleset.
